about re-claimed

please contact me at re-claimed@hotmail.com

Re-claimed pairs social and environmental concerns with creative hands to design and create unique, local, environmentally sustainable products within the city of Ottawa. Re-claimed creatively transforms quality re-claimed materials (recycled, re-used, un-used, vintage and salvaged) into extra-ordinary creations through the techniques of sewing, collage/assemblage of found images and silk-screening.

By providing environmentally respectful, local alternatives and made by hand products we challenge the environmental impact, waste, and pollution created by big industry along with the demand for new mass produced imported goods, which are all too often made under un-just/ sweat-shop labor conditions.

Re-claimed’s unique one of a kind products exude style, quality, creativity, diversity, individuality and most importantly honour and respect the planet!

Our products include: men and women’s clothing, curtains, pillow cases, alternatives to disposable products: bags, handkerchiefs, zippered pouches (for bulk and produce shopping) re-usable menstrual pads as well as corkboards, wind chimes, mosaics, cedar/sage smudges and even textile sculptures! Re-claimed also provides custom services including: creative repairs, alterations and transformations as well as offers empowering do-it-yourself workshops.
